2007-2008 Alumni Scholarship Appeal

In 2006, Eisner alumni rallied together to provide needed scholarship to enable 35 campers to have the summer of a lifetime. Our goal for this year’s phone-a-thon is to increase contributions from alumni by 20%.

To make this year’s appeal even more attractive, Kevin Penn, an alumni from the late 70s, has issued a matching challenge. He will put up funds to match donations of $100 or greater dollar for dollar. In other words, if you were to donate $100 dollars, Kevin will in turn donate $100 to the scholarship fund.

You can make your contribution online or by mailing a check to Eisner Scholarship Fund, 301 Route 17 North, Rutherford, NJ, 07070.

Below is a letter from a young girl who received scholarship last summer.  Please help her and others like her have the same transformational experience you had at Eisner

Dear Louis, the scholarship committee and those at Eisner,

Going to Eisner was the best part of my summer.  It was a life changing experience that I will never forget.  I felt that I got the most out of each day and got to do so many new things.  I played new sports and learned new things.  My favorite parts of camp were teva and limud (the Jewish study) - both were lots of fun and I learned a lot.

I learned about Darfur and Israel Day made me see Israel from the outside.  I liked being able to answer questions from my friends and I think that my being in camp made some kids want to come to Israel.  I learned that most of the time the kids at camp are a lot like my friends but a little different.

I made so many friends that made everyday at Eisner amazing and awesome!!  I can't remember a day at Eisner that I didn't laugh, smile and have a great time!

On the last day of camp I cried.  I wished that the year would go past as fast as possible so that I could come back.

Eisner gave me a new perspective on how I live my life, how I treat my friends and family and I learned a lot.  For 2 weeks after camp I sounded very Long Island and was saying "Oh my God, no more grilled cheese!"

I enjoyed every minute at Eisner and I really hope that maybe I could go back next year and be in Olim so that they will all come to Israel the year after!

Thank you and chag sameah.
